Job Responsibilities:
1. Attains and maintains a working knowledge of 12 core functions of addiction and 12-Steps Programs.

 2. Routinely displays basic knowledge of symptoms of mental health issues.

 3. Appropriate use of ASAM and DSM-IV.

 4. Consistently strive to improve patient care and record keeping and to respond positively to peer and supervisory feedback to improve service delivery.

 5. Effectively supervises screenings, intakes and assessments; group and individual therapy; family counseling; treatment and planning revision; crisis counseling.  

 6. Efficiently and accurately completes case reviews, evaluation, case management, and review and audit of charts.

 7. Effectively thinks and functions in a crisis situation with minimal supervision.  Reports to supervisor any problems in program effectiveness.

 8. Appropriate use of time management to ensure time is used efficiently and patient care is provided in a timely and efficient manner.

 9. Appropriately handles difficult situations with co-workers and patients. Works with other staff to ensure patient needs are met.

 10. Identifies problems and works together with solving.  Shares job responsibilities evenly and helps others when needed.

 11. Promotes an overall professional presentation to co-workers, patients, and patients collateral sources.    Conducts self in professional and ethical manner with co-workers and patients.

 12. Routinely willing to take on additional duties to assist supervisor and co-workers.  Dependably works hours that are needed to ensure the needs of the department are met.

 13. Actively involved in professional associations outside of SalusCare, such as FADAA, CBAPF, Florida School of Addiction Studies, etc.

 14. Routinely displays a working knowledge of applicable state & federal laws, SalusCare, and department policies and procedures.

 15. Consistently complies with mandates of all SalusCare/DECAF/CARF and other applicable fund source regarding documentation - including quality and timeliness.

 16. Will continuously observe confidentiality as per company standards. This will include written communications within and outside SalusCare, including reports to referral sources.

 17. Reliably attends relevant meetings/committees and offers improvement suggestions. Regularly shows a willingness to assist supervisory staff in implementing new policies and procedures.

 18. Target minimum hours of direct services as defined by program standards; work well with other staff and clinicians to ensure patient needs are met.

 19. Assures that minimum of direct service hours are met for the department.

 20. Routinely demonstrates good attendance and reliability by doing the following: consistently reports to work on time; reliable work performance; no abuse of leave/PTO policy; adequately plans leave and makes every effort to cover responsibilities in exigencies and coordinates training/workshops/meetings with supervisor as necessary.

 21. Utilizes staff training opportunities to enhance skills needed for delivery of patient services.  Obtains a minimum 16 hours of training per year and attends all mandatory training.  Meets CEU requirements for licensure/certification as applicable.

 22. Will attain/maintain competency with agency electronic health record and use it effectively within required time frames.

 23. Consistently displays cultural competence and sensitivity and ensures services provided incorporate patient-specific cultural values.

 24. Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree OR Master’s degree from an accredited university in a human service field required.
•CAP preferred, but not required. 
•Requires One (1) year of full-time experience working with individuals with mental health, substance abuse and / or co-occurring disorders.
•Must possess and utilize effective communication skills (oral and verbal).
•Must have general knowledge of co-occurring disorders in order to best serve our population of patients.
